Important Clarification from ZKBase (Formerly ZKSpace) on False Hacking News

We would like to address a crucial matter that has recently come to our attention regarding the alleged hacking of $41 million from the ZKSpace platform.
Rebranding to ZKBase: First and foremost, we are pleased to announce that as of December 29, 2023, ZKSpace has officially rebranded as ZKBase. This significant move heralds a new era in our journey, focusing on layer2 scaling solutions for both BTC and ETH networks. In line with this rebranding, our official Twitter handle has been updated from ZKSpaceOfficial to @ZKBaseOfficial.
Clarification on Hacking Misinformation: Regrettably, subsequent to our rebranding, our original Twitter account (@ZKSpaceOfficial) was maliciously impersonated by a fraudulent group. This deceptive group spread false claims that ZKSpace had suffered a hacking incident, leading to a purported loss of $41 million. We want to unequivocally state that these allegations are entirely unfounded and misleading. The impersonated account has been identified, reported, and subsequently suspended.
Regarding the recent concerns about the $41 million reduction in Total Value Locked (TVL) during the ZKSync Era, we wish to clarify the situation for our community. This change in TVL was the result of organic liquidity movements, initiated and controlled entirely by ZKSwap user (the liquidity provider itself). These activities, encompassing both the addition and removal of liquidity, as well as deposits and withdrawals, were purely personal actions taken by community members. All transactions involving the adding or removal of liquidity by users are transparently documented on the official ZKSync blockchain explorer, rendering any allegations of theft by hackers as entirely baseless. We assure you that user funds are safe and secure.
